Hoop de doo everybody, it's my first blog.
no idea what or why I'm doing this, almost a kind of 'hello world' thing I suppose.
about time I got with the whole publicise my life nonsense. or maybe just a cheap way to pass time in the evenings.
so what's going on?
I want, initially to say visit my completely rubbish web-site livingthegreen.co.uk Contrary to some peoples immediate thoughts the site is not some pot head's fantasy land, but is supposed to be a site about living the dream in a green or environmentally sound way. Get the pun? Livingthegreen?
Currently the site's little more than some domain parking, but the search results it turns out are quite well tuned, so if you're looking for somewhere to start, there's no harm in looking. It was supposed to have a bunch of e-bay links on there but I couldn't get accepted onto the partnership programme, so got stuffed with parking the site for the time being.
So what's next? Suppose I could jibber a bit about all the green stuff we try to do, the extra stuff that's beyond taking bottles to the bottle bank or newspapers to the paper bank. I could also jibber about where I draw the line on the whole environmental activist things, like, for example any idea that we should ever be forced out of our wonderful already hugely economic (and getting better year after year) cars onto hateful inefficient stinking filthy disgusting unsafe busses. I mean, think about it, if your average bus manages 6 Miles per Gallon it's doing well. So, with a little bit of Maths here - if your car does 36MPG, a bus must take 6 cars with 1 person in off the road. (physically capable, but anyone in a car on their own probably shares my views on busses!)
But wait, the bus has a double whammy, because more often than not, it is full one way and empty another so it's fuel economy is halved... 3 three, THREE T H R E E miles per gallon!! that's really green isn't it.
ok, so now if you start making sure that you get more people in your car, car sharing, or even just ensuring that you make journeys as efficiently as possible - like drop people off en route to your final destination, you can double, treble or quadruple your fuel economy, of if you have seven seats you could even septuple it - that same car with 36MPG is now doing the equivalent of 252 MPG, compared to 72 people crammed into a sardine can bus equating at 3mpg to wait for it. 216MPG!
stick that in your diesel tailpipe and 'smoke it' oh no back to the drug refereces again!
Ok, that's more than enough to get started with for today. Don't know when next post will happen, probably depends on what kind of feedback I see. Hope you enjoyed reading this, and don't forget to see the rubbish site www.livingthegreen.co.uk
